When jazz trumpeter, Miles Davis, released the album, “Kind of Blue,” in 1959, he redefined jazz and influenced every genre of music for generations to come. Loved by casual listeners and revered by musicians and critics, the album ranked number 12 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time and is arguably the top selling jazz album in history. Join us as Mount Prospect’s own, Jose Sandoval, teams up with Frank Alongi & Tim Seisser to debut a jazz trio that takes you inside this musical masterpiece through interpretive performances and an interactive discussion of the album’s style and contribution to the evolution of jazz.
This program is co-sponsored by the Mount Prospect Historical Society, Des Plaines School of Music, and the Mount Prospect Public Library.
The concert starts at 7:30 pm and goes until 8:30 pm, followed by questions and discussion. Registration for the event through Mount Prospect Public Library is highly encouraged. (847) 253-5675
